Dr. Clyde J. Fontes

Let me introduce myself. I am Dr. Clyde J. Fontes. I practiced chiropractic in South Alabama from 1974 until 1978. I have practiced chiropractic here in Decatur since 1978. My children are all graduates of Austin High and they are literally scattered around the world. I have 12 grand children and two dogs.

I graduated from Andalusia High School in Andalusia, Alabama. Following graduation, I attended Jefferson Davis Junior College in Brewton, Alabama receiving an A.S. degree. I then attended The University of South Alabama in Mobile finishing my undergraduate studies in 1970.

I attended The Palmer college of Chiropractic from 1970 through 1974 for my professional education. I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in April of that year and immediately entered private practice.

In 1977, Dr. Jim Nolan of Decatur, and I attended a year long series of continuing education classes together. At the time, I was practicing in South Alabama.He persuaded me to come for a visit in Decatur. I fell in love with the area and have been here ever since.

I have over 750 continuing education credits in a variety of areas ranging from diagnosis and treatment to acupuncture and research. I believe that my profession is in a constant state of change and improvement and that it is my duty to keep abreast with the latest advances.

In the 30 something years I have been in practice, I have had the opportunity to help thousands of people just like you. I have many families that span three generations. I am always humbled by the fact that my patients have enough trust in me to refer their children and even grandchildren. In fact my practice growth is 90% referral, which is another fact I am proud of.

My outside hobbies include hunting, scuba diving and photography. Drop by my office sometime and check out my gallery of undersea photos.

I am a member of Decatur Christian Fellowship in Decatur. I know the importance of my Christian faith in all aspects of my life.
